Kannan’s directorial venture has been quite commendable with the filmmaker churning out back to back hit with ‘Jayam Kondan’ and ‘Kanden Kadhalai’. Launched from the school of Manirathnam, Kannan ensures of providing quality entertainment to universal audiences. Now he is all set to strike with his third movie ‘Vandhan Vendran’.
Precisely, it’s high time for Jeeva as the actor is stupendously striding with more projects in hands that are completely different from each other in terms of genres. Touted to be a crime-thriller, Jeeva takes on the role of a professional boxer aspiring to make great achievements in his profession.
It’s quite surprising to see Kannan, who delivered breezy entertainers leaping out for a crime thriller. ‘But I had completed working on this script before four years itself. I had a clear picture of canning every shot along with the locations and costumes. Since major portions of the movie were to be shot in Mumbai, we had approached the proprietors of Taj Hotel that was prone to 26/11 attack. Permission from Government was constantly denied and I never gave up relentlessly requesting them.’
Kannan reveals that each and every member from the crew had to furnish their complete details along with residence proof and ID cards. The shooting at Taj Hotel was to be done between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Government was clear about not of shooting any sequences involving bombs and gun shots.
Nearly after 6 months, the permission for granted and the shooting was done at 3 days. Romantic sequences involving Jeeva and Taapsee were shot along with some action sequences as well. Apart from Taj, many sequences were shot across the famous locations of Juhu Beach, Marine Drive and busiest lanes of Mumbai.
One of the major highlights of this movie will be the most beautiful gigantic bridge at Orlean region that is 7Kms upon the seas linking two cities. The complete look of the bridge and seas has been canned by Kannan and he promises that it will be a grand visual treat for the audiences.
The entire crew has spent 21 days in Mumbai with which 70% of the shooting is completed while few scenes and couple of songs are to be shot in Goa and Turkey each.
For every man and woman to achieve success, they must have made more sacrifices. But this film will throw lights upon a new concept that the dreams can be achieved without any losses.
Following huge success of ‘Naan Kadavul’ and ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’, K.S.Seenivasan is producing this movie at a big budget. Patukottai Prabhakar has penned dialogues for the film. Thaman is scoring music to the lyrics of Thamarai, Gorky and Yugabharathy. Rembon has erected huge sets with P.G Muthaiah handling cinematography.
