Edison Awards has been following it as a ritual of felicitating the best ones based on various categories. Superstar Rajnikanth starrer ‘Enthiran’ won ‘Best Film’ Award while Simbu fetched ‘Best Actor’ and Trisha as ‘Best Actress’ Award for their spellbinding performance in ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’.
It was a special honor for actor Jayaprakash as he won his first award of recognition for ‘Best Supporting Actor’ for his naturalistic performance in ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’. The same movie earned reputation for 4 newcomers as ‘Best Villain Award’ for their overpowering acting, The Best new face award was fetched by Amala Paul followed by Best Director Award for ‘Madharasapattinam’.
Venkat Prabhu’s ‘GOA’ won the ‘Best Romantic Picture’ and Sargunam as ‘Best Debutant Director Award’ for his entertaining movie ‘Kalavani’. Best Commercial Award was given to director Hari for ‘Singam’.
Apart from the awards, the occasion was studded with more musical and dance bonanzas.
