It’s rumoured in Kollywood strongly that actor-director Kalanjiyam, who has been making ‘Karungali’ with him playing the lead role opposite Anjali, is actually ‘managing’ the pretty actress’ call-sheet diary. If any producer or director wants to cast Anjali in his upcoming film, all he needs to do is to get in touch with Kalanjiyam first, it is said.
Anjali, who debuted in Tamil films as heroine opposite Jiiva in an off-beat role in the film ‘Katradhu Tamizh’ a few years back, starred in some more movies including a film or two opposite Sundar C but couldn’t make any noticeable impact in the viewers’ minds till ‘Angaadi Theru’ came her way. The film, which released last year and became an instant hit, has given a new lease of life to the actress.
Unfortunately for her, the stupendous success of ‘Angaadi Theru’ was followed by a couple of duds in ‘Rettaichuzhi’ and ‘Magizhchi’. This has left her with no other option but to begin from the scratch again in her effort to make it to the list o the top actresses in Kollywood.
She has also landed up a role in Ajith’s landmark 50th film titled ‘Mankatha’, which has Trisha playing the female lead. Though not playing Ajit’s heroine, Anjali is extremely delighted to be sharing screen space with Ajit and expressed confidence that the film would ultimately turn out to be a milestone in her career.
Rumours floating in Kollywood say that Kalanjiyam, who is also said to be ‘distantly’ related to the actress, is managing the call-sheets of Anjali. Let ‘Karungali’ hit the screens soon lest rumours linking the two might soon be out in the media!
