Following the huge success of ‘Enthiran’, superstar Rajnikanth is hurriedly kick-starting his next project titled ‘Rana’. The film will be a Live action entertainer produced at big budget by Eros International in collaboration with Orcher Studios. Post-grand success of ‘Muthu’ and ‘Padaiyappa’, director K.S Ravikumar joins hands with superstar Rajnikanth for this trilingual movie to be made simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
The pre-production works are close on the heels of completion and the film will go on floors from March with plans being made for release in 2012.
A.R Rahman has been signed for scoring music while Rathinavelu as cinematographer, Anthony (Editing), Rajeevan (Art). The special effects will be handled by Soundarya Rajnikanth and Charles Darby of Eye Qube Studios while Emmy award winner will supervise the visual effects.

Its official! Superstar Rajinikanth’s next would be ‘Rana’ with one of his favourites K S Ravikumar, who directed the rajni blockbusters ‘Muthu’ and ‘Padaiyappa’. The film to be produced by Eros International and Ocher Studios is Scheduled to go on floor in March this year.
A R Rahman would be scoring the notes for ‘Rana’, which will be a live action magnum opus with Rajini playing triple role and will be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu. Continuing his association with the superstar, Ratnavelu would be the Director of Photography while Editing would be done by Antony. Art direction is to be taken care by Rajeevan.
The technical & special effects director will be Soundarya Rajnikanth and Charles Darby of Eyeqube Studios, renowned visual effects luminary and an Emmy award winner will be the visual effects supervisor on the film. The film is scheduled to release in 2012.
Rajnikanth’s last film Robot was a spectacular hit that released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi and grossed more than Rs. 300 crores worldwide.
