Actress Kaamna Jethmalani, who starred in films like ‘Idhayathirudan’ opposite ‘Jeyam’ Ravi and in ‘’Machchakkaran’ opposite Jeevan, is said to be contemplating ‘retirement’ from movies. The pretty babe, despite her looks, hasn’t exactly been flooded with film offers.

though that acting glamourously and exposing would take me places in the industry. Only later did I realize that it’s talent alone which makes or breaks an actress. As such, I’m bored of my waiting; the wait for good films has taken its toll on me. I think I have now lost interest in films,” admits Kaamna.
Kaamna found the going tough in Tamil films in the face of stiff competition from the likes of Nayantara, Asin, Trisha, Tamannaah and others and then switched over to Telugu films to try her luck. There too, she didn’t get many films as per her liking and the chances became far and few.
The curvaceous Kaamna is now concentrating all her energies on the film ‘Kasethaan Kadavuladaa’, a comedy film which is being directed by Thirumalai, known more for his action-oriented flicks than comic ventures. She plays the heroine in the film and was responding to a query as to where she had ‘disappeared’ in the past year or so.
“I have only been accepting those film offers which I whole-heartedly like. I don’t accept films just for the sake of it or for money. Though I have starred in as many as 10 films, it is highly regrettable that none of them is a memorable film in which I play(ed) a magnificent character.
“My character in ‘Kasethaan Kadavuladaa’ is a very good one. Though it’s billed as a comedy film, I’m happy that I have finally managed to get a character which appears throughout the film rather than disappearing mid-way through the film. I’m earnestly hoping that the film would give me the much-needed break in Tamil films,” concludes Kaamna.
