The casting doings for the Tamil remake of ‘3 Idiots’ is itself a good script for a film. Or that’s what it looked. When the remake decision was announced all media and fans worked over time suggesting all kinds of permutations and combinations. From Vijay, Ajith to Vinay, Siddharth all were put inside the box.
While Vijay was the first confirmed to play Aamir Khan the other two roles were tossed up for many. Even after actors like Madhavan & Siddharth repeatedly went aloud denying their interest in the remake film no one bothered.
After so many mystifications the final casting for the film has been announced by the concerned.
Accordingly Vijay, Jeeva and Srikanth will play the main three. On other roles, Sathyaraj will play Boman Irani and Ileana will play Kareena.
It will be the next film of director Shankar after the stupendous ‘Endhiran’ and that has its own share of expectations. The ‘3-Idiots’ remake will be officially launched on December 6 and we expect to know the Tamil title before.

3 Idiots begins in December 5 in Delhi
Reports that the makers are planning to commence the shooting of the Tamil and Telugu versions in Dehradun (where the original version was shot) were wrong. Master film maker Shankar’s proposed Tamil and Telugu remakes of Aamir Khan’s smash hit 3 Idiots will start rolling from December 5 in Delhi. However, the exact location of the shooting is kept under wraps.
Vijay & Mahesh Babu will play Aamir’s role in the Tamil and Telugu versions respectively. Arya and Jeeva will play the roles played by Madhavan and Sharman Joshi in the original, while Sathyaraj will play the role of the principal. Ileana will enact Kareena’s role in both versions.
Some changes are being made in the script to suit the tastes of the South Indian audiences. Harris Jayaraj will compose the music and Manoj Paramahamsa will crank the camera.
Tamil version of ‘3 Idiots’ to be launched on Dec. 6?
The Tamil version of ‘3 Idiots’, which would star Vijay, Jeeva and Srikanth in lead roles and would be directed by Shankar, is likely to be launched on 6th December, it is reliably learnt. The film is to be produced by Gemini Film Circuit.
Telugu hottie Ileana, who debuted as heroine in the Tamil film ‘Kedi’ many years ago before moving on to Tollywood where she reigns supreme now, makes a comeback in Tamil films by playing the lead role in the Tamil version, which is yet to be named. Ileana plays Kareena Kapoor’s role in the original version.
Sathyaraj, the veteran actor, might play Ileana’s father in the film. For playing the lead role in the Tamil and Telgu version of ‘3 Idiots’, Ileana is said to have been paid a whopping sum of Rs.1.5 crores by the producer.
Mahesh Babu, the leading Telugu hero, plays the lead role among the three heroes in the Telugu version.

Shankar and Gemini Film Circuit have finally firmed up on the star cast of their remake of Raju Hirani’s 3 Idiots remake in Tamil and Telugu.
The film will have a Tamil title for tax reasons; while in Telugu it will be called 3 Rascals.
Ilayathalapathy Vijay (Mahesh Babu in Telugu) will play the role done by Aamir Khan, Madhavan’s role is being done by Jiiva and Sharman Joshy’s character will be done by Srikanth. Sathyaraj is doing Bomman Irani role and Ileana has been cast in Kareena Kapoor’s role.

3 Idiots becomes 3 Rascals
The Telugu remake of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots, to be directed by Shankar, has been titled 3 Rascals, if sources in the know are to be believed.
‘However, the Tamil version which Shankar would make simultaneously would have a different title as the State government there is giving tax exemption to film with Tamil titles,’ sources maintain.
