Actor Shaam, who doesn’t have many projects in Tamil, switched to Telugu films last year and landed up a significant role in the Telugu film ‘Kick’, which was remade into ‘Thillalangadi’ early this year. Incidentally, Shaam played the same role in the Tamil version as well. Though the film was a hit in both the languages, Shaam was still not getting enough offers.
After his ‘Kick’ created many a record at the box-office, Shaam has now been offered a solo hero film in Telugu. Though he was getting many offers in Telugu, he was waiting for a plum one which landed up in his kitty in the form of ‘Kshetram’.
The film’s muhurat was held yesterday in Hyderabad. Shaam, who debuted in Tamil with ‘Ullam Ketkumae’ directed by the late cinematographer-turned-director Jeeva, starred in the national award winning film ‘Iyarkai’ but somehow stardom eluded him despite his acting credentials and looks.
Shaam is said to be over the moon that he has finally got a great opening in Tollywood for playing a solo hero with ‘Kshetram’. In Tamil, he has his ‘Agam Puram’ opposite Meenakshi a.k.a. Pinky Sorcar ready for release after which Shaam would be starring in ‘Dhoosi’, which is said to be his home-production.
