Tamil cinema and novelty go hand in hand. Tamil film-makers have, over the years, introduced many novelties in film-making and in the various other aspects related to it. These changes have always been patronized in a big way the knowledgeable movie-goers. We have seen films sans lyrics in it.
A film, which is yet to be titled, is being made in Kollywood which is a first of its kind as it would feature an all-male cast and as such, there won’t be any heroine in the film at all! In fact, the screenplay of the film has been set in such a manner that it won’t have any hero either!
Lead actors who have been signed up to play significant roles in the film include Saikumar, Aashish Vidyarthi and ‘Kadhal’ Dhandapani, all of whom are more than 40-50 years old. The film, which remains to be titled, is said to be the first-ever Tamil film which would be made without a ‘heroine’. The film would be directed by Ramanaa and would be produced by Subba Reddy.
The lack of heroine might just be compensated by the insertion of an ‘item number’, for which a leading heroine might be signed up, Unit sources said. It is reasoned that the audience, especially the male fans, might feel bored if the film releases sans any heroine or female characters.
A confident-looking Ramanaa says that he banks his belief on his story and screenplay and says that he was absolutely sure the film would hit the bull’s eye at the box-office for its novel screenplay and its sleek narration.
