The Palakkad-born Vidya Balan, who has made it big in Bollywood and is considered one of the top-rung actresses there, has reportedly ‘refused’ to pair up opposite ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram in one of his forthcoming films, it is reported in some sections of the Press.

Vidya has to her credit many hit films like ‘Parineeta’, a ‘Munnabhai’ series film, ‘Paa’ and ‘Ishqiya’ and is known as an actress who insists more on performance-oriented roles than relying on skin-show. Many Kollywood directors have been trying for the past few years to bring Vidya to act in Tamil films but Vidya hasn’t relented so far.
Director Vijay, whose ‘Madarasapattinam’ has been making waves both among critics and among movie-goers and is running successfully, is said to have recently met the beautiful Vidya and put forth a plea to her to pair up opposite Vikram in a new film he had in mind starring Vikram in the lead.
To his surprise, Vidya wasn’t even ready to listen to the storyline that Vijay was ready to narrate to her. “I have absolutely no intention of starring in Tamil films. That’s why I didn’t even listen to the story. For the next month or so, I won’t be shooting for any film and would only be starting to shoot after the release of my latest film No one Killed Jessica. Till that time, I would love to have a break,” Vidya reportedly told Vijay.
She can refuse a Tamil film offer only at her own peril!
