A longer letter of heartfelt words: The recent letters of veteran director K. Balachandar has been making headlines. First it was for ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’ and then for ‘Madharasapattinam’. However, this one is all about his heartiest wishes for his much affectionate son-like-actor Kamal Haasan.
Singing praises of his recent acclamation as the successful actor by Kerala State Government, K. Balachandar says, “If Edison has been credited with discovering electricity, Alexander Graham Bell for Telephone, RL Stevenson for Steam Locomotive, Macroni the Radio and Lumiere Brothers for moving pictures, I am credited for discovering Kamal Haasan…”
The filmmaker furthermore adds that he didn’t discover Kamal Haasan, but gave him a platform and the right opportunity to discover himself. The words extend towards hundreds and thousands as he finally thanks Kamal Haasan for making him proud and pleased.
