Vijay TV’s Airtel Super Singer Junior II results of wild card round announced yesterday. More than 7 lakhs votes have been registered. Srikanth got more than 2 lakhs vote and selected from wild card round to finals. Then Mano said that 3 girls Nithyashree, Srinisha and Priyanka got more than 1 lakhs votes among them they are going to select another one to finals. Dr Balamurali Krishna announced the results. Among the top 3 girls Nithyashree has been selected and in finals there will be 5 singers.
The top 5 contestants are : Sravan, Alka, Roshan, Nithyashree, Srikanth. The winner will be given a prize of Rs.25 lakhs. Mano, Chithra, Subha are the judges conducted the show. Anath is the voice expert who prepared the children for this show. This show is very popular all over the world especially in Tamil Nadu. Let us watch the finals and vote to our favorite singer.

About the Show
The much awaited second edition of Vijay TV’s Airtel Super Singer Junior 2 is soon to hit the Television screens across Tamilnadu. The show launched in 2007 gained huge appreciation across the state and Junior Super Singers like Krishnamoorthy, Saicharan, Vignesh, and Abarna are etched in the viewers’ memory.
These children were given the greatest opportunity to meet many legendary singers like Padmabhushan Balamurali Krishna, Chitra, Usha Uthup and many more, to exhibit their talent and perform on the big stage.
Vijay TV is now back this year with Airtel Super Singer Junior 2! This year the show promises greater entertainment and this provides another golden chance for kids in the age group of 6-14 years to showcase their singing talent on a Vijay TV’s platform which is to be judged by the legends of the music industry.
Apart from gaining recognition from acclaimed names of the music industry and being a child singing icon, the Super Singer Junior 2 winner will be honored with a prize money of Rs.25 lakhs.
The first leg of on ground auditions kick started in Coimbatore on June 6th. The kids auditioned at the Video booths placed across various outlets in Coimbatore at BON BON, No. 62, Nehru Stadium and The Chennai Silks Cross Cut Road. Children also auditioned on Super Singer Junior van which traveled across the city. Along with these options, Airtel and Vodafone participants called 505782727 and recorded their voice.
The Coimbatore audition was held on June 06, 2009 at “Hindusthan College of Arts & Science”, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore. Airtel Super Singer Junior 2 is all set to launch from June 15, 2009 and will air every Monday -Thursday, 9 PM on Vijay TV!

After all, this is a statewide competition to pick out the best talent and not to support and promote anyone against the rules and ethics of music. Alka the super-senior can sing a melody, but what about-western,folk,fast-beat!! No perfection in dynamics- this was pointed out by little conscious one judge many times- In case of Roshan-a female voice and he can sing only melody and both are not good in clasical/folk/western songs. Then how could the judges/and organisers say that these two are better than other contestants like Prianka,sreenisha,sreenisha,Sowmia.The world,seen many many programmes like this in many states will certainly give correct opinion.This is not the stage to support your own people,compromising your own hard-earned credibility earned so far. Truly this has been an ugly scene and a black mark on your forehead. Wherever the “judges” go they will face protests for their ugly ” Operation Black Judging”.

The comments of Shri Raj Sadagopan and Shri MATHEW A are good and correct. Without Ananthji,there is no winner of the title. Whether Priyanka, Shravan whoever it is, lot of improvement is there now. Apart from winning title, this programme has improved the talents of top 15 contestants to a tremendous level. As Mr.MATHEW A correctly states, we have to know the talents of the contestants only from the facial expressions of Shri Ananthji. And as Shri Raj Sadagopan has said, Priyanka, Srinisha and Prasanna Sundar have been praised by their lakhs of fans, while Srikanth has been selected through wild card.
The two lakhs plus viewers who voted for Srikanth and Nityashri are ionsane and needs treatment. You should know the two were eliminated and undeserved to be brought back, still you all voted for them. You people have no ears for music. Do you call his screaming as music talent. His greedy parents are like beggars, begging in front of every body with folded hands, not a symptom of sincereity and respect but only greediness. The people voted for them out of sympathy and not because of talent. He cannot even utter words properly, leave along the raga, bhava, thala, laya of music. Never seen such a worst talents being brought to final stage. Don’t know how could they even clear the audition test. If I was in the stage, I would have questioned the big fat cock and hens for their erring decisions. The viewers in the hall are all impudent, impartinent and invertibrate, so to say.
Airtel/VTV you have killed the beautiful reality show. You mean business and made others as pones for your vicious wishes. Go and learn the basics of conducting such reality shows from Asianet and Kairali TV before beaming such programme in your channel. Srikanth may come as a good singer after 5 years no doubt, becuase he has the range and imagination. As Janakiamma said he has range but practice brika and other sangathies and come as a good singer. That is the best observation ever made by her. But too late. The foolish tamils without knowing the meaning of the music are voting for this wasted and undeserving candidate. So is Nityashri. You should have brought other talented singers like priyanka, sahana etc. But you have selected or opted to select the worst two instead anticipating good SMS and money you will earn out of this. Watching the first two day’s Grand finale, I was very disappointed. Both Srikanth and Nithyasree were totally unfit for this finals. Even Alka and Roshan were far below their normal potential. Perhaps the fact that the final winner is selected on the basis of voting must have affected their performance. As I had mentioned earlier, they stand no chance before Srikant and Nithyasree when it comes to voting by public. Perhaps Priyanka & Srinisha would have been a better choice for the finals. I even had a feeling that Priyanka was better than Alka on some days, especially her Nalai Intha Neram Paarthu (from Uyarntha Manithan) was simply out of the world. Unfortunately she did not make it. VTV is making all of us fools. I am also upset about the comments by some of the viewers that the Judges were prejudiced and made favour towards people from other state. I believe we are all Indians and have equal rights everywhere, no matter what language we speak at home. Let us wait and watch. I hope better music sense prevails and not sentiment.

Everyone says Srikanth is extremely talented for his age and hence deserves the title. If you look at age and then make decisions, what is the point in other talented singers putting so much of effort to sing with perfection. Srikanth was definitely brought in to boost viewership – first on the basis of ‘makkal support’ and then as the actual wild card winner!!! LOL. Look at what he does in the final round happening this week…entertainment is what he mostly offers…his singing cannot be even judged when comparing to other finalists.
Alka is the best of all most of u has accepted. Every body who commented saying tat Priyanka is better than Srikanth/Nithyashree first of all Priyanka is a good singer in Classical not in folk or other aspects. Only one thing the Viwers are happy about is the great Sri.Anand Vidhyanathan. Yah!! All credit to shape the singers goes to this person.We have no words to praise him. He knows each and every singer’s calibre. While show is on we watch his face to read the singer’s performance, because we lost faith in the judges due to their blatent biased judgement. He himself wholeheartedly enjoys the singing of Prianka and blessed her and openly declared to the public that an artist for recording is ready. Similar opinion has been given by all the legends who have come for the show. WE have been watching the show from the day 1 and we also know the tone and tenner of each contestant yar!! but you people manipulated everything to favour your own people for reasons best known to vtv. Those who have done got the curses from all directions.
Like many have pointed out Alka is not eligible to participate in this show, since she is a stage performer who has sung over 6000 songs and have a record in Limca books-she has to confirm. Otherwise, young budding talents would have proved their metle and got the title and the judges would have their credibility intact. Now the norms and ethics have been flouted to promote a singer, who is of course not-the-best among others and made this a flop show!! The Judges dared to sell/misuse their God given talent to favour Alka and Roshan and crush the melodious singer Prianka & performers-Sreenisha,Nithiasree.

Nityashri three times eliminated and srikant two time. But they are still in the final line up by the grace of the fat idiot judge Mano. Honesty is the best policy. If VTV had kept an eye on the producers/Director and their induced Judges from the begining, the show would have been a success, selecting the best lots from South India. No. viewer is against any singer, but favouring their own people and commenting the other talents with harsh comments and pushing out from the scene cannot be accepted. Srikant is not a great talent, kids of his age always have great memory and less stage fear. 60% of Kids are same with these characterstics if they are trained well like Srikanth’s Dad they can do these things. 2. Children of employees, agents and relatives of VTPL and the Judges and relatives of the agents and partners of VTPL directly involved in the management of this Program will not be eligible to enter into this Program.
3. Only the first 600 eligible entries will be selected to participate in the competition and VTPL reserves the right to close the entry of the Participants at a time convenient to VTPL.
4. Participants can enter into the competition from multiple locations and in multiple categories but for each participant there can be only one entry from each location /and or category.
5. The intent of this competition is to nurture and give an opportunity to all those who want to become playback singers. Therefore those who have sung as solo singers for movies released either in India or out of India cannot participate in this competition.
6. Participants have by participating in this competition, agree to permit VTPL to televise, use the footage of the recorded material, printed material or photographs the performance of the Participants in the competition in any manner whatsoever it is concerned.
7. VTPL will not be liable for any non-selection of a Participant due to technical faults in the voice drops, video booth, mobile booths, internet or CD’s & cassettes entries.
8. Selected Participants will have to be available at the next level of the competition to be held at a place and venue stipulated by VTPL, in case if the participant fails to attend on the date intimated then the participant shall be considered to be eliminated.
9. VTPL shall not be responsible for any cost towards, transport, travel, costume, boarding or lodging of the participant and that the participant shall have to bare the cost of the same.
10. The participant must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. Vijay Television Pvt. Ltd. (“VTPL”) does not accept responsibility for parental supervision or guardianship for any Participants.
11. Participants must be of sound mind and should not be prevented from participating in the competition by any previous contractual obligation.
12. VTPL is not responsible for misplaced, lost or stolen articles of either the participant or the person accompanying the participants.
13. VTPL shall in no circumstances be liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense or any consequential or indirect loss or damage of any kind. Further VTPL shall not be responsible for any injury, mental trauma or death caused due to any reason whatsoever for the participant.
14. No interference whatsoever by a parent or a legal guardian regarding the competition /Program and/or in the conduct of the competition/Program will be entertained by VTPL and any breach of this clause will automatically disqualify a Participant from entering and proceeding to further levels in the competition.
15. The Participants accompanied by their parent or legal guardian shall make themselves available as may be required by VTPL in connection with the competition on any day as per the time schedules including any reasonable delays and as intimated by VTPL from time to time.
16. Participants shall make no statements to the press or any media service regarding VTPL, the competition, or its operations and activities without prior written approval from VTPL.
17. The selection of the participants will be by a panel of predetermined judges. The decision of the judges and VTPL will be final. The participants hereby waive all rights to challenge the decision of the judges. Selected participants will have to enter into a separate contract with VTPL.
18. VTPL shall reserve the right to eliminate the participant at any stage of the competition, if the participant turns 15 years of age at that particular stage. Further VTPL reserves the right in their absolute discretion, to reject an entry and/or alter all or any part of the Rules and Regulations and that either the parents and / or the legal Guardian of the participant waive the right to dispute the decision of VTPL.
19. In case of a dispute VTPL’s decision shall be final and binding on all the parties concerned.
20. No communication whether direct or indirect will be entertained by VTPL and any breach of this clause will automatically disqualify a Participant from entering the competition.
21. All disputes relating to this Terms & Conditions will be subject to court at Chennai only.

Is it a human psyche or its flaw that we all tend to be tilted to one side of the balance when we are surrounded with prejudiced and biased people who just deceive us that they are always indifferent.
They can’t be, because they too are human beings.
I haven’t been an avid follower of any reality shows, because I don’t watch TV that often. But once in a while I watch few programs for the performances. This week, the finals of Airtel super singer Junior-2 is being telecast on Vijay tv. Viewers have a choice to vote for their favourite contestants. But this really doesn’t seem to be a week of finals. Contestant Alka doesn’t have much competition from the contestants, except Shravan who is just pulling up good performances. Spare a thought for this very very little kiddo Srikkanth, he is beyond criticism for his age. He is there mainly for his popularity, not for winning the contest. Once in a while, I have seen this kid “Roshan” singing and I wasn’t much impressed with his singing (in common man’s understanding of music). But this kid is still singing in the finals of the show.
Doubts started creeping up about the credibility of the contestants’ run up to the finals. Then on the vijay.indya.com forums, I found the fans going outrageous against the elimination of a contestant named “Priyanka”. In fact, there is a forum which crossed 100 pages and more than 1000 posts supporting her and against the decision of her elimination. I got curious and listened to a few songs of her in youtube.
Man, she is just awesome. Such a pristine voice, yeah that’s what singer Srini too told after watching this performance during the wild card round

Divine, I am using this word for the 2nd time today. I have used it for shreya goshal in the morning and now for this wonderfully gifted kid. I was continuously listening to this again and again. I would have heard it at least 7-8 times. I thought I could give you the finest moments of the performance and was marking the seconds which were brilliant, but repeated watching made me go mad about many moments. I was just moved and music has this uncanny knack of bringing tears to you and this girl brought tears in me. You enjoy it for yourself, especially with good ear phones.
Yet this kid is not selected for the finals. Don’t you doubt the credibility of the selection now?
I hate prejudice, nepotism or any such favouritism. But reading about the musical connections of the family of Alka, a finalist, I can assume that the program organizers or the biased judges have eliminated a tough contestant, Priyanka, from giving a brilliant performance in the finals. Anyways the above song itself is worth a performance in finals and deserves many prizes. After reading quite a number of forums, I can understand that Priyanka has a great fan following. She has won thousands of hearts. And that’s enough for her. Until I saw this girl’s performance, I thought Alka was a child prodigy, just as the judges always say, but I reserve my judgement. I don’t want to belittle Alka’s talent, she is immensely talented, but there are kids who are even better than her. I am not going to watch the finals anymore and decided to stay away from it.

Remember that Benny dayal, Blaze, Naresh Iyer and a few other famous singers had all been a rejects of musical reality shows like this. Look where they are today.

I’m terribly dissapointed that Priyanka & SriNisha were not choosen for the finals…
Anyways My Ranking for the choosen ones would be:
1) Sharavan
2) Roshan
3) Alka Ajit
4) Nithiyashree
5) Srikanth
Sharavan is quite talented & vesatile in his singing. Roshan for his sweet voice and smooth soothing singing.Alka Ajit sings perfect & flawlessly but could have sung more difficult songs to justify her potential.
Nithiyashree & Srikanth are merely “Performers without fear” not “Great Talented Singers”… therefore shouldn’t have been choosen as the finalist.
Yeah i totally agree tat these 2 have showcased their talents very well & it was a great pleasure watching them perform, especially Nithiyashree’s peppy performances! But this competition is not for Dancing! And Yes! ofcos all of us can see that Srikanth has done way too good for his age but again this is the competition for singing which he definately lacked… he has been biasly voted just bcos of his AGE! Viewers have gone too sentimental in the voting I would say! Cos any other child his age could done the same with the kind of memory power they have & also bcos of the fact that they are too young to realise the stage fear! So its not a suprise that he “Performed pretty well”
Nithiyashee & Shrikanth should not have been in the finals!It should have been Priyanka & Srinisha. Or even Sahana or Soumiya could have taken the place if the voting had been genuinely done based on singing talents And NOT AGE or DANCING!!

I can’t believe SriKanth and Nithiyasree got selected. Gosh!! they don’t deserve to enter the finals at all!! This is a talent competition. People should vote for the real talents and not be age biased. SriKanth can’t even sing he is jus screaming and it’s a pure memory work which most kids his age culd do. Nithiyashree doesn’t have a good voice. She is a gd entertainer but not a versatile singer. She will be in the danger zone if she sings a melody.
SriNisha is the most versatile singer, Priyanka has the sweetest most enchanting voice and Sahaana sings like the original singer..one of this gals deserved to enter the finals. Complements to Anand Sir, he has done a great job in training the kids!!
This is basically politics… Judges shouldn’t have allowed Sri Kanth into the wild card round…as long as the public is voting, the outcome is pretty obvious..there is no need to wait until the finals!! …the show is interesting without srikanth, there is no need to use him to boost the popularity!!!!
I am so pissed off with the voting results..it’s a total waste of time watching this stupid damn show..If not for my favourite Neeya Naana show and Gopinath, I wud have cancelled the Vijay TV subscription…

I vote for Roshun because he is a talented singer.When Roshun sings girls songs it is so sweet.Roshun sings with a MELODY voice and he sings everything in a proper voice for each gender.GOOD LUCK Roshun snd I hope you are selected!
