Malayalam top actor Suresh Gopi was in Chennai Tuesday evening for an exclusive premiere of his forthcoming Malayalam release ‘Raman Ravanan‘, a movie that is about the Lankan issue.

The movie based on a novel ‘Manomi’ by Madhavi Kutty features Suresh Gopi in the role of a Lankan Tamil rebel Thiruchelvan who falls in love with a Sinhalese girl.
The film was previewed exclusively for Chennai scribes since it involves a sensitive issue on Lankan Tamils. Speaking on the occasion, the actor said, “It is a touching tale and I am happy that we in Mollywood made this movie even before our Tamil friends could do such a film.”
On playing an off-beat role, he said, “I have won National Award before and my fans expect me to be part of not just some commercial entertainers but also meaningful films.” ‘Raman Ravanan’ is directed by Biju Vattapara and it features Mithra Kurian, Nedumudi Venu and Biju Menon in pivotal roles.
