Raj TV has bought ‘Ravanan’

Raj TV has bought Tamil version of ‘Ravanan’ from Reliance and Madras Talkies for 5 crores.

Many Tamil channels tried to buy the film but backed out due to the high amount demanded. Sun TV opted out and so did Kalaignar TV from the bidding competition.

Sun TV has not bought the rights for many Mani Ratnam films. ‘Iruvar’, ‘Uyire’, ‘Ayudha Ezhuthu’ and the latest ‘Guru’ were all bought by Jaya TV, Vijay TV and Raj TV. Now Raj TV has bought Tamil ‘Ravanan’ for 5 crores.

The film industry is still astonished at the high price paid by Raj TV for ‘Ravanan’.
