Kalpana Palanivel is producing the film Kandha under the banner V P Films. Karan, Vivek and Mithra are starring in this film. The film is directed by Babu K Viswanath. While speaking about this film, he said,” I was an assistant to Saran. Now I am becoming a director through this film.
I have spoken about the social issues in this film. Rajesh has donned the role of a teacher while Karan dons the role of his student; the story is about a student who is in search of a teacher to find the solution to a problem. I have the shot the whole film in Thanjavur.
A big stunt scene featuring 20 stunt men was shot by stunt master Super Subbarayan in the Kollidam river bed. There are four fighting scenes, one chasing and three encounter scenes in this film. The film is shot with the backdrop of the relationship of a teacher and old student.
I have included one of the sensational incidents which took place in Thanjavur in this film. Sakthi R Selva has composed the music for all the songs. All the songs will be coinciding with the story. There are 71 scenes in this film. All the 71 films will be like 71 short stories. The film will be released shortly.’
