I was just offering ‘seva’ – says Ranjitha

Actress Ranjitha, who had become incommunicado once the video tape showing her intimate scenes with Swamy Nithyananda came out, said that she was only offering “seva” to the godman and there was nothing more to it.

She was speaking to a Chennai website over phone.

“The media has unnecessarily blown the issue out of proportion. I know swamiji for the past few years and my association with him is quite transparent.

“As a true devotee, I offered my services like feeding and massaging him regularly in his room. I used to stay with him till late and the ashram inmates knew about it,” the actress said.

She became Swamy’s devotee as he cured her of chronic asthma in a single day, she claimed.

On reports which suggested that she connived with Swamy’s former associate Lenin Karuppan to shoot the video, Ranjitha said that there was no truth in the allegation. “I know my Swamiji.. He is a great Athma and will come as a pure Athma soon…” She added that contrary to what the media say, she was happily married.

Nithyananda, supposedly attending Kumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh or Bihar, may explain his version on March 18.
