Aruvadai-revolves around the problems faced by farmers. Mamooty as a CBI Officer, Arjun as a ‘Special Branch’ police officer,Jai Akash as the Asst. Commissioner. Sneha pairs up with Mamooty as his wife and plays the role of a Pilot. Mamtha, lover of Arjun.
The film tells the story of a group of officers who are in an attempt to resist an international terrorist organization that tries to infiltrate the country. The central investigative agency RAW finds that the head of the terrorists group, in the name ‘Malik’ has crossed the borders to initiate a big deal and carry out deadly explosions in the southern part of the country. As not much is known about their actual operations, the southern zone command director of Intelligence bureau, Gopi Krishnan is deputed to find traces about the working plans of the organization and to prevent them from causing any damage. IB takes necessary steps to avoid the danger.
Shooting for the film is in progress at places like Chennai, Ilayankudi, Keelakarai, Marthandam, Kochi, Hyderabad. Important sequences were shot at the old chennai central jail where a huge set has been erected. Climax of the film to be shot at Kanyakumari. It is a movie on patriotic theme and is being made both in Tamil and Malayalam.
