Tamannaah Tamanna wins Shantaram award

Actress Tamanna

Actress Tamannaah has won the prestigious Shantaram Award for her 2008 Telugu venture Konchem Ishtamga Konchem Kashtamga. Reports says that she is only South Indian actress to have won a Shantaram award.

Director Kishore Kumar won the award for the Best Debut Director for the same movie. The award was announced on 13th December. The Rajkamal Academy of Cinematic Excellence (RACE) is sponsoring these awards for the last 15 years annually in memory of the legendary filmmaker V. Shantaram.

β€œThe winners in different categories of the awards would be announced on December 21 in Mumbai,” says Kiran Kumar Shantaram, Chairman RACE. Shantaram is a powerful Hindi cinema name, so awards named after him definitely carry great value.

The Shantaram awards are given to film talents all over India. Last year, it was an A Wednesday show at the awards.
