Kandha Kottai seems to compete with James Cameroon Avatar and Vijay starrer Vettaikaran. Though the Avatar and Vettaikaran are being released on 18th, Kandha Kottai is being released the next day. When asked director Sakthivel whether it was appropriate to release his film Kandha Kottai at the time when block busters like Avatar and Vettaikaran are being released, he said,” This film will do business since this is Christmas season and the vacation will lure people. Moreover Nakul has given two continuous hits and has got a mass for him.”
Kandha Kottai which has Nakul and Poorna in the lead is being directed by Sakthivel. Dhina has composed the music. Nakul has sung one song in this film. This film is being produced Kalpathi S Agoram under the banner AGS Entertainment
