Why Jai’s heroine threatened her mother?

Nandagi is pairing with Jai in the film Aval Peir Tamizharasi. She is also acting in the film titled Thandavakone directed by Seeman’s assistant and in the film Itthanai Nalaya Engirundhai directed by R Balu and produced by Ice House Thyagu.

Nandagi while speaking to the media she tells about the difficulties she faced before becoming an actress. She said,” I was residing in Kanchipuram. One day I had gone to Kamatchi Amman temple to pray.

Producers of Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu saw me and asked me whether I was interested in acting. I agreed. They did the screen test. Director Meera Kadhiravan seeing my photo offered me the lead role in Aval Peyar Tamizharasi. After this I got offers in Thandavakone and Itthanai Nalaya Engirundhai.

But my mother was dead against acting. Whenever the producer use to phone she would say that I was not there. She also switched of my mobile for one month. I begged her to let me go but she was stubborn. At one point I lost my patience and threatened that I will run away from the house if she did not permit me to act. After this she came down and told me to do as I wished.”
