Many were surprised when Meera Jasmine bravely changed tracks after the ban and decided to do more films in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, where she later turned out to be an successful heroine. So far, six of her films have released this year, the highest for any heroine in the South! Wow! That’s really commendable!
Her projects include Prasanth’s Malaiyoor Mambattiyaan, Adhi Narayana with newcomers, Sivappu Mazhai with newcomer Suresh Joachim and Uday Kiran’s Pen Singam, which is based on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s novel ‘Suruli Malai’. Meera Jasmine has recently signed Pattinte Palazhi (Malayalam), in which she plays the role of a playback singer.
Pattinte Palazhi, directed by offbeat filmmaker Rajeev Anchal, will feature Jagathi Sreekumar (as Meera Jasmine’s father), Revathy, Manoj K. Jayan and Nedumudi Venu in the lead roles. Apart from these films, she is being considered to play the heroine in a famous Bollywood art house director’s forthcoming film.
