Director Raja
Once, official announcements were made about ‘Jeyam’ Raja directing Vijay’s 51st film to be produced by Aascar Ravichandran, there were more buzzes that it would be a remake project. On the dot, rumors spread that it will be a remake of ‘Bommarillu’ fame Bhaskar’s upcoming Telugu project ‘Orange’ starring Ram Charan Teja and Genelia in lead roles.
But now, we’ve the filmmaker clearing up the calls on air saying that his film with Vijay will be a direct script and not a remake. ‘Many media channels have been so preoccupied labeling me as a ‘remake’ director. There’s nothing such thing called remake or direct film. Directors must ensure that producers and distributors have got their hands down with profits and that’s the reason I choose best films and remake them. My debut directorial in Telugu ‘Hanuman Junction’ was a blockbuster movie.’
Perhaps, you can’t make sound judgments as the definition of cinema varies from each person. One calls it to be an art form and claims it should be realistic and creative while some consider it as ‘Business’.
