Why do film makers prefer big budget films with big stars? Director Ameer who has hits like Paruthiveeran to his credit, explains the reason. “Filmmakers like me want to make films with good stories. But when I made films like Ram I alone know the problems I faced with distributors who wanted to touch only films with established stars. There are many like me who are then forced to go for big budgets and big heroes in order to sell the movies. Selling small films is very tough for us. Otherwise we would not go for them.”

Now that’s some food for thought for the film industry indeed.
