Surya’s position in Kerala

RajniKanth, Kamal Hassan, Vijay, Vikram and Ajith were the key Tamil film actors who got significant opening in Kerala, till recently. Now a Surya film can be compared with the opening for a Vijay film. His Kakha Kakha was the mass entertainer which attracted youth in Kerala.

Suriya's performance in Vaaranam Aayiram gained him to a position on par with Vikram. Vikram whose recent films flopping one after another made Suriya in an enviable stature. Blockbuster film Ayan directed by K V Anand with Suriya in the lead has almost made him Numero Uno among young actors. Ajith and Vijay haven’t made any significant film this year.

KS Ravi Kumar directed Aadhavan has been sold for Kerala for Rs 1.25 Crore. It is the highest price for a Surya film in Kerala. Ayan was sold for Rs 80 lakhs and have business worth Rs 1.35 crore. Aadhavan which also has Nayanthara is expected to be another hit. Aadhavan will be released in 85 centers across Kerala.

Director Ravikumar is sentimental on Diwali as his other films which were released on that day have worked best for him (Villain, Godfather).

Vijay fans in Kerala are pinning all their hope on Vettaikaran which was earlier expected to be released on Diwali. Vijay’s Sura is a remake of Mohanlal starrer blockbuster Chotta Mumbai.
