Renukunda
Weeks back in time, we had debutant Suresh Chakravarthy making his praiseworthy score with Leelai. And now, here comes one more newcomer joining the queue. Ganesh Raghavendra has offered a right mix of mellifluous and fast-beat songs on greater notes.
The film is directed by Panneer Selvam and is by produced by Mahendra Jain of Film Fabricators. The lyrics are penned by Na. Muthukumar, Yughabharathi and Piraisudan.
1. Mazhai Peyyum
Vocal: Harish Raghavendra
Lyrics: Yughabharathi
The album starts off with a good track. A solo melodic tune well crooned by Harish Raghavendra. The sharp, clear-distinct lyrics by Yughabharathi make the song more perfect in rendering. The song has been mastered perfectly with good orchestration.
2. Thallakulam
Vocal: Actor Silambarasan
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar
Ganesh Raghavendran seems to be inspired by Yuvan’s ‘Enga Area Ulla Varadha’. But the similarities end up within few lines. Silambarasan makes the song splendidly appealing. Na. Muthukumar has penned the lyrics savoring merely for the young groups.
3. Kandaen Kanmaniyae
Vocal: Shreya Ghosal
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar
Shreya Ghosal needs no introduction. Her free-flowing vocalisms across various pitches and mild instrumentations make us mark a best verdict for this song. Again, Muthukumar comes up with strikingly spectacular lyrics.
4. Vizhigalilae
Vocal: Bombay Jayashree
Lyrics: Yughabharathi
The song sounds pretty similar with Harris Jayaraj’s tune on ‘Anal Melae’ from ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’. With the same singer Bombay Jayashree getting on the track, prototyped rhythmic beats does keep us reminded off that song. Anyways, it has got a pleasant touch with commendable lyrics of Yughabharathi.
5. Gandharvanin Kottai
Vocal: Ranjitha
Lyrics: Pirai Sudan
It doesn’t evoke a sense of penchant taste for this song. Maybe, if there’re right visuals over the screens, then this item number could be a sort of song to look on for. Ranjitha spells her voice with appropriate intonations required for the song.
6. Vaazhkai Yaridam
Vocal: Vijay Yesudas
Lyrics: Na. Muthukumar
The tunes of ‘Kanden Kanmaniyae’ have been replicated for the male version with different lyrics. With Vijay Yesudas on the tracks, Na. Muthukumar has delivered lyrics based on pathos a young man’s soul in despair.
Finally, the songs of ‘Renigunta’ are moderately exquisite. Debutant Ganesh Raghavendra strikes with a laudable debut with finely tuned tracks. He’s a new music director in town to look out for.
Verdict: Worth listening to...
