Producer arranges organic cigarettes for Deepika Padukone

Do not be surprised if you find Deepika Padukone blowing out puffs in her forthcoming ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’. Deepika comes from a family where heatlh and healthy habits are sheer priority. So, when her ultra-modern character in the film required her to smoke cigarettes, Deepika was worried that she would get addicted to it.

Farhan and producer Ritesh Sidhwani respected Deepika’s concern and came out with a unique solution. They ordered special nicotine-free organic cigarettes for the actress.

Talking about the issue, Sidhwani said, “It’s a film about a lovable loser and a modern, hip girl. Farhan makes Deepika quit smoking. So we have a nice message in the end. We didn’t want to be responsible for inculcating a bad habit and that’s why these organic cigarettes were needed.”

In the film the lovable loser Karthik (played by Farhan Akhtar) helps her to quit smoking. Since she quits smoking ultimately, there is also a social message attached to it.
