Sundar C Babu, one of the fastest rising young music directors in Kollywood today, made a rare gesture at the audio launch of his film Agaradhi. “I want to donate a cheque of Rs 1 Lakh to the Mahesh Memorial Cancer Hospital,” said Sundar.
Recalling his association with the late music director Mahesh who succumbed to cancer, Sundar said. “I played the keyboards to his music. Such was his dedication that even on the last day before he died, he composed the tunes for Vaanum Vasapadum with a smile on his face, even as he was vomiting blood on his hospital bed.”
Sundar got emotional at the recollection. He then called upon Mrs. Chitra Mahesh and Jayendra of Real Image to receive the cheque which was handed over by Raghava Lawrence who is himself a noteworthy contributor to charitable causes for children. Sundar’s gesture was lauded by all present at the function.
