Sky Diving Has Never Been Tried By A Hero Before – Arun Vijay

Actor Arun Vijay is all excited over his next film Manjha Velu which will be kick starting on Sep 19th. In this chat he tells us what the buzz is all about…

How do you feel post the success of Malai Malai?

I feel great. We have just returned from a tour of TN getting feedback from fans and learning from it all for our next project. It’s been running in 160 theatres and is the next long running film in theatres after Ayan and Nadodigal. The people seem to have liked the mix of action, comedy and everything else in the film.

Tell us about your next project.

Its called Manjha Velu and that’s the name of my character in the film. We will be starting with a shot in Pazhani as we did in Malai Malai. We are retaining the same winning team of Malai Malai. Mani Sharma has already composed four songs. We are hunting for the heroine but others like Prabhu, Ganja Karuppu and Santhanam are confirmed. A Venkatesh will be directing me again.

Why did you decide to keep the same team?

We all felt very comfortable and have become like a family.

Who is producing this film?

It’s the same production team of Feather Touch Entertainment of Dr Mohan, Sushil and Hemanth.

What sort of character are you playing?

After Vetrivel, the van driver in Malai Malai, we decided to go in for another ordinary young man role. The film will have lots of action. After doing the parkours course for my stunts in Malai Malai I am trying something new in Manjha Velu.

Whats the specialty in this film?

Well for the first time I will be doing a sky diving sequence in the film Sky diving has never been tried by a hero in Indian films before. I will be training at the London Parachute School in a 15 day course. I will be doing the Accelerated free fall sky diving course. It has 8 levels and once I complete it successfully it will enable me to do the sky diving individually on screen whichever part of the world we shoot.
