Only the other day, lyricist-poet Vairamuthu had reasons to be upset about the staggering increase of the movies released in Kollywood. It seems to be a just remark with six movies lined up for release this Friday.
movies for the weekend release are : Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru, Suryan Satta Kallori, Kannukulle, Moonar and Oru Kadhalan Oru Kadhali.
Among the big ones, Bharath-Priyamani starrer Arumugham directed by Suresh Krissna is expected to hold audience interest. Ramya Krishnan’s character is seen on the lines of her Neelambari act in Padayappa.
Aarumugam with Bharath and Priyamani in the lead is directed by Suresh Krissna and produced by Chida Shenbagakumar under the banner Kool productions. Actresses Remya Krishnan and Seetha are also playing a major roles in this film. Others in cast include Saranya Mohan, Karunaas, Abhinay, Sathya, Manobala, Ilavarasu, Mahadevan, Ravi Prakash, Mayilsamy, Krishnan, Sara (debut).
Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru
Debutante director Nandhini’s interesting title of Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru is touted as a full-fledged comedy with the contrasting ways of the lead characters as the high point. Ajmal and newcomer Rupa form an interesting pair. In this romantic comedy Ajmal romances with Bangalore model Rupa Manjari. Film maker Mouli plays a role in this film. The film was shot in Red One camera. The movie is made in Tamil and dubbed to Telugu. Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru is the first Tamil film to have an all digital release in India and abroad.
Suryan Satta Kallori: The film is based on the a law college and bizarre going on through. It has been revealed that the filmmaker has tried depicting the real terrific incident that shook the City of Chennai in Law College over here too. Debutants Ghajini and Mitha are in the lead roles.
Kannukule with Mithun and Aparna in the lead roles is about husband-wife relationships. Suriyan Satta Kalluri directed by Pavan has two freshers Gajini and Mithra locking horns.
Moonar is a suspense film; new face Ranjith up against Ragasiya with music composer Ravi Deventhiran making his debut.
Oru Kadhalan Oru Kadhali : This is expected to be a romantic thriller, directed by Selvendran. It stars Chandran, Rambha, Lakshmi Rai, Anu Mohan, Kadhal Sugkumar, R. Sundarrajan, Thalaivasal Vijay, Raja Shree and Abhinaya Sri.
