Ilayathalapathy Vijay has a tinge of regret that he is still to give a hit with director K.S Ravikumar. At the same time, mega director Shankar longs to work with Vijay.

At the audio launch of Vettaikaran, Shankar revealed some interesting tidbits. The audience were in for a surprise when Shankar said that his original choice for the blockbuster Mudhalvan were Rajinikanth and Vijay.

“But for some reasons, it did not eventually happen. I had been assistant to S.A. Chandrasekhar for seven years and it would be fine to reciprocate the gesture directing Vijay,” said Shankar, well-known for his crisp speeches.
