Southern beauty Trisha is on cloud nine. Things just happened her way. She is one of the busy bodies down south, now she will be equally engaged in her northern tinsel counterpart. As her luck favored, she has been offered her debut Bollywood project by the Remake King, Priyadarshan, who initially had given her first film platform with ‘Leysa Leysa’ in Tamil. And that’s not all, the Hindi movie, ‘Khatta Meetha’, has the Bollywood stuntman, Akshay Kumar, whom Trisha always dreamt to work with.
The excited actress is very thankful towards Priyadarshan and said, “My lucky director Priyadarshan, who introduced me in Tamil movies, is giving me a break in Hindi films too. After my debut in ‘Leysa, Leysa’, I was reticent about my career. Now with a firm foot in southern cinema, things have worked out for Bollywood as well, thanks to Priyadarshan. I have a meaty role on par with Akshay in the movie.”
Trisha further revealed, “I should consider myself lucky. Though I had several offers from Bollywood earlier, I couldn’t accommodate the dates as I was busy with Tamil and Telugu films. Now the moment has come and that too in a big way. Three movies and a dream debut opposite Akshay Kumar, that too directed by my mentor Priyadarshan.” The other two movies are said to be bannered under Akshay Kumar’s Hari Om Productions.
Looks like, the history is really repeating itself. Earlier, the likes of Hema Malini, Rekha, Sridevi used to reign both North and South cinemas. Now that trend seems to have come back again.
