The world is finally catching up on the sensation that Rahman has sustained in India for 15 years now. Two Oscars, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA later, the latest recognition to beckon the Oscar Tamilan, as he is popularly called, is an honourary doctorate by the Middlesex University, London. The doctorate will be conferred on him in July this year.
But that's not all. Talks are also on by AR Rahman's KM Music Conservatory to do a joint three year Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition and Music performance, in association with the London-based University.

The officials are exploring the possibility of offering the first two years of the Middlesex Programme in KM Music Conservatory, while the final year can take place in the institution in London. Talks are on with Joe Victor, Regional Director, South Asia, of the Middles Sex University, for this purpose.

Here's wishing Rahman luck for more international accolades to pore in.
