An ice storm ripped through eastern United States over Thursday night leaving more than 12.5 lakh homes without power.
More than half of New Hampshire's homes and businesses lost power, and it was expected to take several days to completely restore electricity there and in other states.
Tree limbs and powers lines continue to collapse under the crushing weight of the ice and wind gusting at 25 to 30 miles per hour continued to knock down branches and utility wires.
