After wrapping up the month long Hyderabad schedule, Kuselan crew is now camped in Pollachi. Shoots are being carried out in and around the Pollachi and Udumalaipettai areas. The Sainik School located 21 kilometers off Udumalaipettai was the venue for shooting.
The school wore a festive look and was festooned for the shoots that had Rajini playing the chief guest for a school function. This scene is said to be the superstar’s (Rajini plays himself in the movie) opening scene in the movie where he bumps into his school friend, the now ‘Barber Balan’ played by Pasupathy. The scene shot yesterday also had Meena (who plays Pasupathy’s wife), Vadivelu and Livingston.As a part of the shooting arrangements, posters and hoardings were arranged across the road welcoming the superstar for the school event. This sparked interest among the villagers and they gathered in huge numbers to catch a glimpse of Rajinikanth. The superstar, on his part, seemed obliged when he downed his car windows and waved at his admirers.
Pollachi has a special toned up look and that is because of its to-be visitor, superstar Rajnikanth, who is to set foot in town in a few days. Kuselan is due to start its next schedule of shoot there and apparently, a hectic search is on to find suitable accommodation for Rajni who has graciously said, he would stay wherever the rest of the actors and the unit are put up.
Usually, when Rajni or Kamal shoot in Pollachi, they stay in director-actor Manivannan’s guest house but because Rajni had put in a request to be with the Kuselan cast and crew, the task of finding accommodation for the superstar is the unit’s first priority.
