Fast against Hogenakkal issue – Tamil Film Industry

Hogenakkal issue is heating up now. In protest to the bashing up of Tamil theaters in Bangalore, the Kollywood film industry has announced a day-long fast on Friday. South Indian Film Artistes’ Association, at an emergency meeting, decided that the Tamil film industry will observe a fast.

Rama Narayanan, the President of the Council and vice-president Sivasakthi Pandian and other office-bearers have attended the meeting. Vijayakumar and Sathyaraj participated in the meeting behalf of Actor’s association and extended their support to the decision taken by the producers

With the Tamil filmdom also getting into the act, the dispute has escalated into an all-out confrontation. If Kannada artistes fail to participate in the fast, film workers will not co-operate in their movies, said the resolution passed by three bodies of the Tamil film world. This puts the artistes like Rajinikanth, Arjun, Prakash Raj into a difficult postition.
