Asin is an Indian film actress, model and a stage performer. Making her acting debut in Sathyan Anthikkad’s Malayalam film Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001), Asin had her first commercial success with Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003, and won a Filmfare Award for the Best Telugu Actress for the film. After a number of films, she received her second South Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in her second Tamil film, Ghajini (2005). She played the lead female roles in hits, the thriller Ghajini (2005) and the action comedy Varalaru (2006). In 2008, Asin made her début in Bollywood, with Ghajini, the remake of its Tamil namesake, subsequently winning the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.
Asin Thottumkal, who rose up to a top position in South films before moving to Bollywood, has made it big in Hindi film industry. Through her hard work and performance, the actress has created a niche for herself in B-Town. It has to be noted that out of six Hindi flicks, four of her flicks have joined the 100-crore club. However, the 27-year old, in spite of being most-wanted girl, has not signed any movie in the recent months that has left media to find out the real reason behind her refusal to give a nod to projects.
If reports are to be believed, Asin Thottumkal has found her true love. Her beau is said to be from the US and they are planning to settle down in marriage bliss soon. The actress is regularly visiting America to spend time with her secret lover. As a result, the Mallu girl has not signed any project in the recent past. Sources also say that she is not willing to take up assignments now as she decided to give more time towards her relationship.
The buzz also says that Asin would be tying the knot with her beau in the current year itself and the preparation for the wedding is happening without much hype.
However, reports say that Asin would not quit films at the moment and she would be certainly taking up films if she really finds any script interesting.
At this stage, the actress, who has tasted huge success in South and Bollywood films, want to do challenging roles than being a hero’s arm candy.
However, interesting story is that Asin is likely to return to Tamil films this year.
A leading Tamil filmmaker is in talks with Asin for his next project but nothing has been finalised.
